Featuring NYJO the NOTTINGHAM YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA centre stage, Nottingham Youth Orchestra’s Summer Concert promises an exhilarating afternoon of dance inspired classical and jazz music. This is the second event in a special series of concerts celebrating NYO’s 40th Anniversary and showcases the orchestras’exceptional younger musicians in the Training and Intermediate orchestras as well as the senior Jazz players, all playing at their end of academic year best. Their programme features music driven by the rhythm and energy of dance, and blends classical masterpieces with lively jazz influences.
This is a great opportunity for youngsters interested in joining one of the Nottingham Youth Orchestras to experience a live concert hall performance. NYJO in particular is looking for young instrumentalists who enjoy playing Pop, Rock, Latin, Funk, Swing & Jazz. NYJO is currently at the height of its powers, but sadly saying goodbye to some wonderful musicians as they move to post-18 studies this summer. All of NYO’s friendly orchestras are hoping there are musical youngsters who’d love to fill their shoes and experience the exhilaration of performing on the concert hall stage and elsewhere.
