Two teenage girls have reported being sexually assaulted within an hour of each other in two different suburbs of Nottingham.
According to Nottinghamshire Police, detectives are currently investigating separate incidents in Clifton and Edwalton on Thursday afternoon.
The first victim was said to have been targeted by a man wearing black gloves and a face mask at around 5.45pm.
She told police the assault took place on land between Rose Way and Landmere Lane in Edwalton, where she was pushed to the ground and assaulted before freeing herself and running from the scene.
The second victim was targeted at around 6.40pm in a small wooded area near Clifton Hall. She too told police she was pulled to the ground and assaulted.
Both victims have been interviewed by specialist officers and thorough investigations are currently underway.
Officers don’t believe at this stage that the same man is behind both attacks.
The first suspect is described as white, around 6ft tall, around 20 years of age and of a skinny build. He was wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms, a black beanie style hat, black gloves and a face mask. He spoke with a local accent.
The second suspect is described as white, aged in his late teens, around 5ft 6ins tall and of chubby build. He had blond hair and blue / green eyes.
Detective Inspector Craig Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police said: “While incidents of this nature are thankfully very rare I would I like to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to investigate these attacks and identify the people responsible.
“We do not believe these attacks were carried out by the same person and have been given good descriptions of both suspects.
“If you saw anyone matching the above descriptions in these areas early yesterday evening we want to hear from you at the earliest opportunity.”
