Statement as emergency services called out Nottingham street

Photos show the scale of an emergency response on a city street.

Paramedics and police were called to Waverley Street on Friday evening (September 10).

Tram operator NET said that there had been a “medical emergency”.

It meant that for a time, no trams could pass between The Forest and Old Market Square.

But in a service update at 7.45pm the operator said trams were running to all destinations.

In a Tweet, NET said: “We are now running through to all of our destinations, with extended wait times to some services.

“We apologise for any inconvenience to your journey and thank you for your patience.”

Trams were affected just hours earlier by a separate medical emergency.
