The A1 southbound between the A614 at Blyth and the junction with the A620 Retford turn-off is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.
Nottinghamshire Fire Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust are currently at the scene while maintenance crews are on their way to the area to assist following the incident which occurred around 4.30am on Sunday (September 19).
It is not yet known whether anyone suffered any injuries in the collision.
The event is expected to clear between by 6.30am and normal traffic conditions are expected to resume around that time.
If travelling in Nottinghamshire this morning, motorists are being diverted via the hollow triangle symbol on the A614, A638 Retford, and the A620. The diversion will add to the journey time so you are advised to plan ahead.
