Have a hoot on the Nottingham Wise Owl Walk

Ten beautifully decorative owls have landed in Nottingham city centre to form The Nottingham Wise Owl Walk, thanks to Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID).

The city trail is the latest campaign from Nottingham BID which hopes to attract families and visitors into the city centre. The colourful owls will be on the perches for all to see from Tuesday 1 September 2020 until Friday 6 November 2020.

The trail spans Nottingham city centre creating a fun and interactive walk to help people discover different parts of the city, attract visitors and promote dwell time in each area of the city.

Every wise owl is completely unique and has been given a name with a Nottingham theme. Created by Wild in Art, who were the creatives behind the popular trail of robins that formed ‘Hoodwinked: A Twist on the Tale’ of the legendary Robin Hood stories.

The goal is to find each owl, which is the proud owner of a single letter – find them all and crack the code to reveal the secret sentence of Nottingham’s Wise Owls.  To help you find the decorative owls, a free map and activity sheet with clues will be available from various businesses in the city centre, including: Behind the Red Door, Café Sobar, Cineworld, Flying Horse Walk, Fothergills, Loxley Opticians & Eyewear Experts, Jojo Maman Bebe, Kanoo Travel, Krispy Kreme, Nottingham Tourism Centre, River Island, Scribbler, Sharps Bedrooms & Home Office, Shop Zero, Tesco (Shakespeare Street), The Bead Shop, The Tokenhouse, Wiff Waff Designs and Wildwood Nottingham. A full list of participating businesses can be found at: https://www.itsinnottingham.com/ideas-inspiration/the-wise-owl-walk/ .

Geoff Williams, a director of Nottingham BID commented: “The Nottingham Wise Owl Walk is all about showcasing Nottingham city centre and the fantastic offering that we have here in Nottingham. By creating experiences, we hope to encourage more people to come into the city centre to shop, eat and drink and take advantage of the fantastic offers that we have.“
