Enertor gives thanks to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance and Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service

Healthcare company, Enertor, gave thanks to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance and the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service and to recognise their exceptional work through Covid-19.

500 pairs of insoles were presented to LEBBS volunteers and Air Ambulance Staff on Saturday, at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance HQ, HEMS Way by Enertor’s CEO, Nick Beresford, as part of the Save the Nation’s Soles campaign.

The LEBBS volunteers and Air Ambulance staff are the third group to receive the charitable donations from the UK insole manufacturer. To date, 1,500 insoles have been donated to key workers and communities across the UK including 500 District Nurses across Braintree, Witham and Halstead, Essex and 500 Western General Hospital staff in Edinburgh.

Kev Turner, LEBBS, says: “This generous donation from Enertor will help provide support for our members both during long days on their feet at fundraising events around Lincolnshire, and whilst performing their duties when on call for the hospitals. Motorcycle boots are made for riding – not for walking and I’m sure that the addition of a protective insole will go a long way to increasing their comfort whilst collecting from and delivering to hospital departments.”

Senior HEMS Paramedic, Erica Ley adds: “We’re grateful to our communities for suggesting that our doctors, paramedics and pilots would benefit from this donation. We do spend most of our time on our feet and this kind gesture will help keep our tired feet comfortable while attending missions.”

Over a single day our feet can support hundreds of tons, with just one step exerting a force twice our body weight. Imagine the stress on the bodies of our health care professionals and community services through the pandemic. In order to send thanks, Enertor launched their Save the Nation’s Soles campaign.

Nick Beresford, CEO of Enertor www.enertor.com says: “When the local community nominated the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance we were thrilled. They have been at the centre of this terrible pandemic, putting themselves at risk and we would really like to thank them for all their tireless and wonderful work.

“This charitable donation campaign has been created to recognise the many extraordinary people across the country that have and are still spending a huge amount of time on their feet as key workers, volunteering, delivering, cleaning, caring and many other important roles through the pandemic.

“We all know how debilitating lower limb and foot pain can be; 90% of impact comes through our feet with little realisation of the damage this can do to the body. Now more than ever, injury prevention is becoming crucial, in helping to keep our key workers and community heroes healthy and mobile. We will come through this crisis, but the only way through is together and so we wanted to do our bit to support and send our thanks for their continued efforts and devotion to saving the nation.

“Our insoles are trusted by podiatrists, the NHS and the British Army. They help all kinds of foot and leg injuries and pain such as stress fractures, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis and shin splints.”
