Emergency services called as person is hit by a train

A rail line in Nottinghamshire has been closed after a person was hit by a train on Friday morning, February 5.

East Midlands Railway confirmed the incident happened between Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop and that the emergency services have been called.

The line is now closed between Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop.

In an update just after 6.40am, a spokesperson said: “Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop and (this) is disrupting our trains on the Nottingham / Mansfield / Worksop routes.

“Network Rail are preparing to send a team to site. The Emergency Services have been contacted.”

Currently, trains are unable to run in either direction.
