A 29-year-old man has been arrested after police received a report that a man was smashing windows and throwing concrete slabs at properties.
It happened in the Ladybrook area of Mansfield at around 3pm on Friday, July 10.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said officers attended and a man was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage, attempted burglary and an assault.
A child suffered a cut to the head having been hit with a concrete slab and required treatment in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore said: “Several people came out of their homes as a result of the commotion and sadly a child got caught injured in the incident.
“We won’t tolerate violence and disorder and my team continues to work hard to gather evidence on this case.”
