Belvoir Castle Engine Yard Shopping Village Set to Open in June

Belvoir Castle Engine Yard shopping village will soon be opening as a tourist attraction near Nottingham. As reported in the Nottingham Post.

The Engine Yard is opening at Belvoir Castle

The Engine Yard will offer “a destination for excellence in food and drink unlike any other in the region”. At Belvoir Castle, around 45 minutes from the city.

Plans for the shopping village were revealed back in March. Showing how a cluster of 19th century buildings at the castle would be converted into luxury retail outlets.

Following a £2.4 million investment local businesses are set to open at the destination. Including retail brands and food producers.

Joining them will be a restaurant, spa, garden centre and café.

The Belvoir Engine Yard Shopping Village Official Launch Date Revealed

Now the Engine Yard has revealed its official launch date of Friday, June 15, Leicester Mercury reports.

The venue will host a number of events throughout the year, starting with BBQ evenings in the summer.

Other events will include cookery demonstrations and foodie talks, farmers’ markets, craft fairs and activity experiences for children.

The Engine Yard will also play host to the Duchess’ Gallery, a range of clothing, accessories and gifts curated by the Duchess of Rutland.

The Duchess of Rutland, CEO of Belvoir Castle and the driving force behind the development. The Duchess says she hopes the venue will become a luxury destination for food and drink enthusiasts.

The Duchess of Rutland commented: “The Engine Yard was once used by skilled craftsmen to create furniture, doors and windows for the Castle. We want the new development to reflect the same ethos, with talented entrepreneurs showcasing their artisan products.

“We have created a true centre of excellence for food and drink. As well as hosting unique, luxury retail brands unlike anything else in the region.

“Our aim was always to turn these once-dilapidated buildings into an area to be enjoyed by the local community and showcase the very best the region has to offer to visitors. We have created yet another reason to spend a day at Belvoir Castle.”
