Arrest after motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash.

The incident, which involved a car and a motorbike, happened just before 4pm on Sunday, August 30.

It occurred on the A617 Sherwood Way South between Sutton-in-Ashfield and Mansfield.

The rider of the motorbike sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre just outside of Nottingham city centre.

Sherwood Road South, between Derby Road and Hamilton Road, was closed.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police added: “A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.”
