Appeal after Beeston knife attack leaves man with ‘multiple facial injuries’

A man attacked with a knife in Beeston needed hospital treatment for “multiple injuries to his face,” police have said.

Officers were called to Derby Road at around 10pm last night (Sunday, August 13) after the victim was spotted.

He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Nottinghamshire Police later arrested a 38-year-old woman and a man aged 33 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson said: “While incidents such as this are obviously concerning for residents, we believe that this incident was self-contained and that all parties involved are known to one another.

“While the victim’s injuries are not serious, whenever a knife is used in an incident there is always the potential for far more dangerous consequences.

“We will be thoroughly investigating this case and while it is early days in our enquiries, we are pleased to have made two arrests.

“I would now appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in the area at that time to come forward.

“We are working hard to establish where and when the incident happened, so anything you have could go a long way to helping us find who is responsible.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 852 of August 13.
